Confusion over God Of War Ragnarök release date but news expected today

Nobody can seem to agree over exactly what’s happening with God Of War Ragnarök but one leakers predicts a reveal today.

Although there’s general disappointment that Sony hasn’t had another State of Play this month, to reveal more about their current first party projects, the most important piece of information for most fans is when God Of War Ragnarök is out and if it’s been delayed or not.

The developers insist it hasn’t been but there’s little agreement amongst the usual insiders, some of who have predicted a State of Play this week, that so far shows no sign of happening.

God Of War director Cory Barlog has once again tried to quell fan discontent by asking for patience, but one prominent leaker suggests an announcement will be made today… but not an official one.

‘If it were up to me I would share all the information when I know about it. but it is not up to me,’ said Barlog on Twitter. ‘So please, be patient.’

‘I promise things will be shared at the earliest possible moment they can be,’ he added, which vaguely implies something has changed recently, but like most God Of War pronouncements can be read either way.

Previously, leaker The Snitch, whose rumours are always frustratingly cryptic, implied that an announcement would be made today, June 30 – or at least the 30th of one month, he never actually suggested which one.

Many assumed that meant the date of a new State of Play, which do often take place on a Thursday, but fellow leaker Tom Henderson now claims that any intended announcement has been delayed.

However, he says we’ll still have details on June 30 anyway, even if they come from an unofficial source.

That would be an odd way to tease a reveal if he’s going to be the one to announce it, but who exactly he does expect to reveal the information is unclear.

Whatever’s going on this is the last day of June, and the last opportunity to make any pretence of following the traditions of E3. So if there isn’t any news this week then it’s even harder to guess when there might be.
