It’s not out for over two weeks yet but Halo Infinite already has a cheater problem, as PC players manage to break the multiplayer beta.

One of the benefits of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer getting a surprise launch last week is that it meant cheaters and hackers were immediately on the back foot, but it seems it hasn’t taken long for them to get a handle on the game.

Reports of cheaters are becoming increasingly common as the free multiplayer beta continues, which has inevitably led to PC gamers being blamed and calls for cross-play to be disabled.

Since PCs are much easier to hack than a console this has become a common problem for online shooters, although in most cases publishers have resisted splitting up the communities.

Developer 343 Industries has promised to add powerful anti-cheat measures to the game when it officially launches on December 8, but the lack of them now seems to be making things very easy for cheats.

There are multiple reports online of players having supernaturally good aiming, which is always the most common form of cheat, but also of phasing through walls.

However, since it’s impossible to prove anyone is using a cheat there’s little that can be done except to try and report the suspect.

The free multiplayer download is only in beta but Call Of Duty: Vanguard also suffered from cheats during its beta stage – which was also blamed on PC gamers.

Cheating has become such a problem for online shooters that it’s one of the (many) reasons given for the poor sales of Call Of Duty: Vanguard, which is particularly susceptible to cheats thanks to its popularity and free-to-play spin-off Warzone.

Unfortunately, the only magic bullet is those being used by cheats, so other than cutting out PC gamers from cross-play there’s not necessarily much anyone can do about it.

There are already aimbots after less than a week, this is worrying. What do you guys think ? from halo
