Nintendo has a limited Christmas offer for Switch OLED and a free game

Nintendo Switch OLED Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Mario Kart Live bundle details

If you pick Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, you can opt for the Luigi set instead (pic: Nintendo)

If you’re looking to get a Nintendo Switch this Christmas, Nintendo will have a new bundle that includes a free game in just a couple days.

Chances are you’ve already begun searching for gaming related Christmas presents to gift your family and/or friends.

With the Black Friday sales over, though, not many places are going to be offering discounts on the hottest products. However, that doesn’t mean companies can’t have their own exclusive sales.

For instance, Nintendo is planning a new offer on its website, that bundles a Nintendo Switch OLED console with a free game.

To be clear, the console itself isn’t getting any cheaper and is staying at £309.99. Your choices for the free game are also limited to a physical copy of The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD (which normally costs £49.99) or Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.

As a reminder, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is a neat product that includes an actual remote control go kart and lets you build your own racecourses in your home using AR technology.

You have the choice between getting either the Mario or Luigi set (where the only difference is in the character) and considering it sells for £99.99, the opportunity to get it for free is certainly tempting.

The offer isn’t live just yet but will go up on the Nintendo Store at 7am on Friday, December 9. It’ll end either on December 31 or until it runs out of stock, which is entirely possible given how popular the Switch still is and the fact that this bundle makes an ideal Christmas present.

Time will tell whether this offer helps push the Switch above its competitors and become the best-selling console of the year.

The PlayStation 5 took the lead back in September, but’s Christopher Dring says only 20,000 units separate it, the Switch, and the Xbox Series X/S so it’s coming down to the wire.

At the time of writing, neither Sony nor Microsoft have announced any similar offers for the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.

Since neither of them were offering discounts on their consoles during Black Friday either, you probably shouldn’t hold your breath for a Christmas discount.
