Ramesses ’s Skills
1st – Ceremony of Karnak
Rage Requirement: 1000
Deals continuous damage to a single target, and reducing the target’s defense for 2 seconds.
Additional Damage Factor: 500/550/600/700/800
Defense Reduction: 5%/10%/15%/20%/25%
Defense reduction of 25% for two turns is massive because we have high attack damage and the talent tree that we have is also going to amplify the skill damage.
2nd – The Poem of Pentaur
Increases archery units’ attack while on the map.
Archer Attack Bonus: 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%
We also have an additional increasing the attack of the archer units by 40% while on the map, which is quite a lot!
3rd – Army of Amun
When the army contains only archer units, it decreases the skill damage taken. There is a 10% chance when attacked to increase troops attack and march speed, lasts for 3s.
Skill Damage Taken Reduction: 10%/15%/20%/25%/30%
Archer Attack Bonus: 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%
Archer March Speed Bonus: 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%
This is a passive skill meaning that you have to rely on the RNG a lot. If you are lucky enough then this skill is going to last for 3 seconds and you’re going to benefit a lot.
4th – Nefertari’s Companionship
Troops’ normal attacks have a 10% chance to heal slightly wounded units and increase troops’ defense for 3 seconds.
Healing Factor 200/300/350/400/500
Defense Bonus: 20%/25%/30%/35%/40%
We pretty much have an extra all attack damage defense bonus here.
Expertise – King of Kings
New Passive Skill
Enhanced: Ceremony of Karnak
Damage Factor 800 → 1000
Defense Reduction: 25% → 30%
Bonus: Targets cannot receive any healing in 2 seconds.
There are a lot of players that use Khan and Cao Cao, Martel, Constantine out there. This is a great counter to them. 2000 damage in 2 seconds is also very deadly.
Best Commanders Paring for Ramesses II
YSG s one of those archers that if you invest on him you can pretty much use him for anything
He increases the damage of archers by 100%, that’s a lot! Combining with Ramesses’s attack, this is something really deadly.
We also have the rage restoration by 100 and then we have a 50% skill damage bonus from the 4th skill.
Imagine the power of this combo with combining all of the YSG skills with the talent tree we have built above.
Edward of Woodstock
Edward of Woodstock might be slightly obsolete if Ramsay is your new primary commander, but he is still very viable at the secondary slot.
Edward of Woodstock has buff for your Archer health by 30%. It’s also going to give you skill damage bonus of 25% and damage to infantry by 5%. The 4th skill increases the attack bonus by 40% when there’s 70% strength and decreases defense of the enemies. This is going to complement even better with Ramesses.
In addition, he increases the normal attack and counter-attack by 50% for two seconds, helping Ramesses II take down the opponents like crazy.
You have an additional chance to gain 100 rage so you can cast Ramsey’s first skill more frequently.
He has a 10% attack bonus and also a marching speed bonus for Archers.
If you are getting swarm, you have a higher chance of increasing your troop attack bonus to an additional 40% (from the Army of Amun skill) which is too high.
If you want an AoE commander in the epic level for archers, Kusunoki would be your best bet!
Ramesses Talent Tree
With his expertise that will block any healing of the attacked commander, he’s great for countering the current garrison commander meta and this is the build that you want to use for that
Using this build, we have:
- March Speed + 24%
- Attack + 15%
- Defense + 3.5%
- Health + 11.5%
The defense is quite low for Ramesses II with this talent tree but with the skills of him, you can get some extra defense bonus. The marching speed is 24% which is going to help you on the battlefield when you are moving around and will not be chased down with ease by any opponent.
The Attack Tree offers not that much either – Last Stand is, in my opinion, a bad talent that will silence yourself and block you from generating rage what you really don’t want to happen. In general, I don’t like Victory Charge because the boost is too short to really make up for the talent costs and it even excludes garrisons and that’s what we mainly will use with this commander.
This leads to the fact that the Archery Tree is the only option to go all-in here while getting Effortless (the best talent you can get in the Attack Tree).
So, with that in mind let’s talk about the best order in which you want to spend your talent points:
First, I’d get into the Attack Tree and make my way over to Effortless. It has 10% additional damage on all attacks and you will pick up some additional buff and extra rage on the way so this makes most sense to get first, especially if you don’t have leveled up Ramesses that much so far.
From here we go straight into the Archery Tree where you want to get Thumb RIngs and Armed and Armored to make your way to Venomous Sting. It’s a nice skill boost that also includes the secondary commander (which will also be an archery commander since any other army than full archers don’t make sense here).
From here, make your way to Phoenix-Tail Arrows, a talent that give you a nice boost, especially in the current meta when you look at the commanders you will find in the garrison most.
Now you have some more points to spend and I’d simply put them into Razor Sharp and Full Quiver in the Archery Tree before getting Armored Joints in the Attack Tree. Last points are the small troops boosts Defense/Attack (All Troops) as you can see in the image above 🙂
Razor Sharp grants 9 rages after launching a normal attack.
Fight to the Death: Increasing all damage meaning including your skill damage, your normal attack, your counter-attack by 6%.
You’re also going to increase all damage taken by 3%. We have another additional 15% attack from this Ramesses II talent build.
We also have counter-attack damage increased by 1.5% from Unyielding and also we have the Armored Joints which reduces all damage taken by 1.5% so pretty much we’re already cutting this on half. Technically we are only taking more 1.5% damage.
Effortless: All damage, including the skills, will be amplified by 2.5% every 10s at a maximum of 10%. Imagine that if you have a secondary like YSG, you will gain tons of benefits.
The reason why we built it with a high attack because the skills of Ramesses are also complementing high attack, meaning we are definitely going to eliminate our opponents a lot faster.
